New Motoactv.com Portal!!!

If you haven’t noticed Motorola’s Motoactv portal has been down for a couple of days. No one really knew why. But if you haven’t checked it out already they have redesigned the page and it looks amazing! I think it makes a lot more sense that what they had in the past. I really enjoy the white background ( Makes it look clean!)

Unfortunately, the portal is still down. But the page looks amazing!

Using Motoactv with Strava, Endomondo, Mapmyride, Mapmyrun, Runkeeper and more

One of the dificulties that Motoactv owners  expirience is its unability to import your workouts into a different fitness Manager website such as Strava, endomondo, Map my Run, Map my ride, Runkeeper etc. The reason for this is because the Motoactv records its workouts in a .csv format when most of the fitness websites allow you to import workouts in .tcx format which happens to be a very common format with fitness monitors. It is for that reason that Motoactv workouts cant be imported into the more advanced, feature rich fitness websites.

But not to worry I will not leave you there.

I spend a good amount of time on the Motoactv forums and came across a gentleman by the username of intermanaut that has created a webpage that allows you to convert those pesky .csv files into .tcx files. I do want to thank Intermanaut for the hard work this might have taken.

To do this:

1. Login into your Motoactv.com and select workouts.

2. Select the workout stats tab and click on download.

3. Save file in a folder that you know you will remember because you will need it for this next step.

Click or enter this as your URL: http://dev.zinu.co.uk/MotoActv/

Enter the file you want to convert into TCX

4. Log into your preferred fitness Manager ( Strava.com!) and import the TCX file that you just converted and Voila! like magic. Your workout is imported into your preferred website.

Like i said earlier it is unfortunate that the motoactv cannot be imported into other websites. I am sure that it is something that is being worked on. But until they figure that out we can all use this tool.
